"Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes
down..."
Kimberly Renee Mills was born in Brooklyn, New York and has been writing original stories, poems and commentary about the world around her since her earliest years of cognizant thought. Her formal career as a writer began while studying English and History at Emory University, where she had several articles published in national news magazines pertaining to politics, spirituality and wellness. Shortly after completing her undergraduate program, Kimberly pursued a career helping students with special needs. Her writing vocation took a scholarly turn as she pursued a Masters Degree in Behavioral Learning Disabilities at Georgia State University, followed by a Doctoral Degree in the field of Exceptionalities at the University of Hawaii. Although widely published in the educational research community, Kimberly never forgot her first love: using creation for the purpose of soulful liberation and communicating truths about the Creator in simple and beautiful ways. Planted by The Stream is Kimberly’s first published children’s book. When Kimberly is not working on educational pursuits with the youth, she can usually be found playing instruments, singing melodies, writing stories, drinking tea, hanging out with friends and family, spending time at the beach and sojourning to remote places and sacred spaces in search of the Source.
